A downloadable game for Windows

An early prototype of a stylized 3D mining and settlement game.

Swing your pickaxe, break rock, and keep an eye out: some ordinary stones hide rare crystal veins. Gather materials, work the Smithy, and help raise a small frontier camp.

This is a work in progress. Expect rough edges, placeholder pieces, and missing features. Feedback is very welcome.

Controls

  • WASD: move
  • Left click: swing / mine
  • E: interact
  • Tab: inventory
  • Esc: menu / settings

Safety

  • Game executable scanned on VirusTotal: 67 of 68 engines clean. The single flag is a low-confidence machine-learning guess (Trapmine), a common false positive for new, unsigned game executables.
  • Windows may show "Windows protected your PC" because this is a new, unsigned indie game. Click "More info" → "Run anyway."

Install instructions

  1. Unzip the download into its own folder.
  2. Run MiningPrototype.exe. Keep the .pck file in the same folder; it holds the game data.
  3. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC," click More info → Run anyway. This appears because it's a new, unsigned indie game.

No installer and nothing else to install. To remove the game, just delete the folder.

Needs a graphics card that supports Vulkan or DirectX 12 (most PCs from the last several years).
